PROJECTS

Showcasing our experience in custom component design and advanced vehicle development across the mobility sector.

D-CYCLE ENGINE

A very interesting research & development project we have supported involved the rig testing of aD-Cycle combustion engine, running on a liquid-petroleum gas (LPG) fuel system.

The principles of this technology is to utilise the combined benefits of a 4-stroke and 2-stroke engine to achieve a higher power-density with reduced emissions.

The design consisted of a split Piston assembly, where the crown is a separate component to the skirt, allowing the four stages of a conventional 4-stroke engine to be completed within one crankshaft revolution.

This design of engine does have its challenges, such as; crank train speed and accelerations, vibration, Piston cooling and emissions.
